Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Error F50

The Cabrio Washer F50 error happens when the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation from the motor, some things you can do to try an fix this error are listed below:

  1. Spin the basket by hand and see if it spins freely, if not then there is some kind of mechanical friction stopping the basket from spinning properly.
  2. Remove the back of the console and check the P5 and P10 connectors on the main board, makes sure they are properly seated in the board and that the wires are not broken or burned. Unplug P5 and P10 and plug them back in.
  3. Try and run a cycle and if the error persists then there are some diagnostic steps you can take using an ohm/volt meter, if you have a meter and would like to do these tests let us know and a tech can help you in live chat.

  1. Had this error with my washer. Replaced control board, same error. Turn washer on side to look at stalled motor and found red wire to motor broken. Wiring harness near motor came loose from bracket and was rubbing on bottom of drum which caused damage. Soldered wire and back in business.
