We've owned an Amana Washer MOD# NTW4516FW2 Ser#C83028363. Since day one this washer has occasionally not turned on whenever we experience a power outage. We called the repair man while under warranty. he came and put the washer in diagnostic mode and worked fine. he performed a set of specific dial turns on the main dial. he instructed us to do this if it happens again. I've researched this and it appears to be a prolific issue with Amana, Whirlpool, and Maytag washers that are similar to ours. Recently it has been doing this more often regardless of any power outages. We have consulted an electrician to ensure that the plug and wiring and circuit breakers are functioning properly. It is very frustrating to have to do this at least 3-4 times a week. HELP Please. Thank you in advance. F.M.M. Rochester, NY

Unfortunately, it seems like the board you're referring to might have had factory issues, and ideally, it should have been covered under warranty, especially since the problems continued after the initial power surge. These boards are quite sensitive and often get damaged by power surges. In this situation, the best solution is to replace the board. Brand new ones can be pretty pricey, around $500 or so, but there are good used options available. I've provided a link below to the specific board you need for your model:
