WHIRLPOOL CABRIO WASHER ERROR F7E9

The Cabrio Washer F7E9 error code means the main board has detected the motor is not moving when its suppose to be, this error is classified as a locked rotor.

  1. Check for clothing or other items stuck between the basket and tub which could be causing friction on the drive system or stopping the motor from spinning the basket.
  2. Make sure the load in the basket is level and not off balance.

  1. I’m in diagnostic mode and the codes are F7 and E9. The appliance guy who came by said I need a whole new washer. I don’t think he ever got into this diagnostic menu but he did pull out some clothes that was stuck on side but didn’t do anything with codes. Could that be partial problem? 🙁

    1. Ya the clothes between the basket was most likely the problem. The error you are getting is displayed when the main control determines that the motor Rotor is not moving when it is being actively driven.
      • Mechanical friction on drive mechanism or basket (items between basket and tub).
      There may be more clothes that are under the tub if you are still having the problem. The tech probably did not want to have to remove the tub to fix it so just told you that.

      1. Any idea on how to get this models top off? I see they say there might be clips on front. I have a wtw8500dco. Thank you
